Brash sponsor Louise Cook – aiming high in the World Rally Championships
You may not have heard of Louise Cook but it is a name that you may well be hearing more of in 2017. 29 year old Louise is the only woman in history to win a rallying world championship competing against men. Her aim is simple, to become the first female World Rally champion – no easy task in a sport dominated by men!
Louise got her first taste of driving when her late father bought her a battery powered car aged 6. She wrote off the conservatory window twice plus two garden fences and took the front axle clean off. Since then she has competed in 19 rallies and been on the podium 9 times.
Faced with a continual battle to seek funds in a male dominated sport, Louise aims to change perceptions of the World Rally world and highlight the fact that females do race against the men.
When Louise announced in January that two major sponsors had pulled put leaving her ability to compete in the first race of the year at Rally Sweden in jeopardy, Brash decided to help. Louise launched a campaign to raise the shortfall of cash through a ‘Sponsorbomb’ campaign. Our decision to sponsor Louise is totally aligned with our belief, both personally and in business, in gender, age and race equality. Good Luck Louise – we will be following you every step of the way.
